When looking at the various ways the teachers in the school make use of the resources available to them in terms of using ICT's for teaching and learning, I looked first at the approach taken in my subject area, English. The manner in which the different teachers across the department use ICT's varies a lot which I personally find unfair to the learners. There a lot of classes per grade and while some teachers are constantly adapting and incorporating new technology, others only teach in a behaviorist way, occasionally using a white board.Some teachers use only white boards and worksheets where others use PowerPoints and think that is enough. However one or two of the younger teachers were quite good at using ICT's. They use edmodo and certain mobile apps to teach literature and spelling (e.g. Play Shakespeare and Word Cookies). Some of the English teachers also incorporated Kahoot as a form of formative assessment in their classes.
